Built for the Trail. Refined for the Neighborhood.
Traditionally designed for hunters & tracking hounds through heavy brush, the Jaeger lead is the ultimate multi-tool of dog handling. By utilizing a heavy-duty clip on both ends and a series of floating solid brass O-rings, this leash can be instantly configured on the fly. Wear it over your shoulder for hands-free walking, wrap it around your waist on a run, configure it to walk two dogs at once, or use it as a standard hand-loop leash. It brings working-dog utility to your daily walk.
Uncompromising Horween Leather.
A leash is your direct lifeline to your dog, which means failure isn't an option. We cut the Hellhound Jaeger Lead from massive 10oz Illini Latigo hides sourced from the legendary Horween Tannery in Chicago. Latigo leather is specifically infused with oils and waxes to withstand rain, mud, and sweat, making it highly weather-resistant. Paired with our heavy-duty, solid brass quick-release and locking jaw snaps and rivets, this lead will effortlessly control the hardest pullers while breaking in to become incredibly soft in the hand.

Hand-Built from the Hide Up
At Hellhound, there are no assembly lines. Every piece begins as an original concept on Gavin’s workbench, meticulously drafted into heavy-duty templates to guarantee absolute precision. We hand-trace and cut every single pattern directly from premium, full-grain hides. From there, we rely on time-honored methods—hand-tooling, assembling, dyeing, and burnishing the edges until they are flawlessly smooth. Finally, the piece is set with heavy-duty solid brass hardware. Nothing leaves our Rocky Mountain workshop until it passes a rigorous inspection, ensuring it meets the uncompromising standard our family name was built on.
The Materials of Our Trade
A master craftsman is only as good as his materials, which is why we source exclusively from the oldest and most renowned tanneries in the United States. Our foundational full-grain hides come from Wickett & Craig in Pennsylvania and the legendary Horween Leather Co. in Chicago—heritage institutions that have spent over a century perfecting their sustainable, world-class tanning techniques. For our premium custom builds, we turn to American Tanning & Leather in Georgia and Pan American Leather in New York. Like us, these are multi-generational family businesses deeply committed to uncompromising quality. Paired with heavy-duty solid brass hardware manufactured in Maine, every piece we build is anchored in excellence.
Furthermore, our integrity extends to our sourcing: every exotic skin we use is strictly CITES certified and ethically procured.
Leather & Legacy
Our premium full-grain leathers are designed to age beautifully. Over time, your piece will absorb the natural oils from your hands, darkening slightly and developing a rich, custom patina that tells the story of its carry and your travels. That enduring quality comes standard. Hand-built by our family and a small team of skilled artisans in the Western Rocky Mountains, every piece is uncompromisingly American-made and promised to last a lifetime.
